The extensive and varied transferware collection of TCC member William Graham will be auctioned April 7, 2017 by Golding Young in Grantham, England. Several of the items were included in the 1998 “True Blue” exhibition at the Wedgwood Museum, organized by the Friends of Blue, and are featured in the exhibit catalogue. There are 150 pieces dating from 1780 - 1830. The auction catalogue will be available at www.the-saleroom.com and www.goldingyoung.com.

As a part of the annual lecture series, Ceramics Department Head, Brenda Hornsby Heindl will highlight items in the November 12th sale including an important wineglass cooler from the President Andrew Jackson/Franklin Pierce-pattern White House service, the White House china of President Rutherford B. Hayes, a unique piece of French porcelain made for the American market and look at how these items played a role in a larger table setting and their use. Northeast Auctions is pleased to be offering American historical dark blue transfer-printed Staffordshire from the collection of Chester Creutzburg and David Martin. Thoughtfully gathered and comprehensive, the collection encompasses a wide array of historical views and events, landscapes, buildings and cities, presidents and foreign leaders, battles and naval engagements and- of course- eagles. Included are many pieces depicting rare and notable views, as well as examples of unusual form and size. The collection will be offered in two parts, with Part I on March 5, 2016 and Part II in August of 2016. Rare Spode Indian Sporting Series "Chase After A Wolf" Soup Plates c. 1820. 9.6"diameter
Two rare indented soup plates of "Chase After A Wolf"in medium blue showing a wolf running with a lamb in its mouth, chased by dogs and Indian hunters with spears. Based on Samuel Howitt's engravings from "Indian Field Sports" pub. In 1807. The exotic border of tigers, bears and hogs reflects the themes of the series. In excellent condition. Do not appear to have been used. $250 for pair. $8 shipping will accept personal check or PayPal.
