Will trade part of our excessively redundant collection of J. Hall "Quadrupeds" for any of the three pieces that we are missing. (1) the chestnut basket (we have the undertray), (2) an open, oval vegetable dish probably with "Mare and Foal" motif in the center, (3) an open weave basket with the "Fox & Rooster with Manor House" transfer. (It measures 12”x 8.5” and is similar in shape to the chestnut basket but is much more delicate and with open weave sides, not just round holes and triangles. James Julia calls it a Fruit basket.)

Ten years ago I did not know how to distinguish 20th century "willow"-patterned china from it's 18th century transferware inspirton. Then I inherited a single "Lion" plate. Today, I believe, we have have the largest private collection of the "Quadrupeds" series.

My name is Greg Firestone from LeLand, North Carolina. I have been searching for several years for the lid to our T J Mayer Florentine Teapot.  The teapot is in excellent condition no chips scrapes etc... it had been in my grandmother's china closet for as long as I can remember. Unfortunately, however, the lid was lost several years ago in a move. If anyone knows where I could find a lid or even another Florentine teapot with the lid... Looking for a large pair of ginger jars preferably hexagonal in shape in red transferware, Spode's Willow or Pink Tower would be great that could be made into lamps.  Or looking for jars that have already been made into lamps.  The single ginger jar pictured (15.5" tall x 8.5" wide x 4.5" base diameter) here in Spode's Pink Tower the kind of piece I would like.  Perhaps someone has a mate to this ginger jar?  That would work as well.  Thanks!

I am offering for sale 35 pieces of naturalistic design transferware.  The pattern is Florentine and the pieces feature different types of birds.  Made by John Dimmock & Co. of Albion Works, Stafford Street, Hanley, William D. Cliff proprietor, circa 1870’s-1880’s.  The collection consists of:

1 – Soup tureen with lid
1- 13-inch x 18-inch oval platter
11 – 7-inch plates
10 – 9.25-inch plates
12 – 10.25-inch plates

The platter and tureen are in excellent condition.  A few of the plates have discoloration and varying degree of chips.  I am asking $800.00 plus shipping cost.
